Hi all! You may notice that this month's hardware special for MacConnection is a 20Meg SCSI Harddrive. I just called them and found out that this is a Rodime drive, even though the ad doesn't explicitly say. The ad states that the price of $569 includes the 20Meg SCSI drive, cable and built-in terminator, backup software and another SCSI port for daisy-chaining. Now my questions. I've heard some really good things about Rodime drives since they are a popular manufacturer and are used by many other manufacturers in their SCSI drives. However, this is the first drive they've done entirely on their own. Has anyone had any experience with this drive? Also, the Rodime drives are convection-cooled. Is this a problem; will it get too hot? Could a fan be installed if need be? At $569 this is the best price on the market now for what is offered. Seems like a great price for a great drive. Any comments? Jeffrey A.
