[net.wanted] VMS <--> UNIX File transfer?

In the near the future I will be investigating different types of VMS to
UNIX communications. From my observations I have noticed that there has 
been quite a bit of investigation and work in this area. To prevent me
from reinventing the wheel I would appreciate any information on this 
subject.
