Hopefully this might save some others a little time.... System: 4.1/5.x on a MacII, 30 MB Easy Drive. I've been trying to get several of the PD programs (from Sumex ...) working on my Mac II. After a lot of experimentation, I've come across some amusing situations: The problems started with the PD 'GO' program. When I first got it, it would crash, sometimes on startup, and sometimes on quitting. Playing around with the system would change things. At one poing it was not crashing at all. A few days later the system file became corrupted and I rebuilt it. After that nothing I could do would get Go working again. Suspecting the $02B6 bug, I tried to get a PD binary editor. Nothing I got worked. (FEdit3.05 for example). Some of these I tried on other systems (MacPlus, running latest system) and they died on these systems too However, MacSnoop worked on those, but not on mine (it always died just at the end, near saving the file or quitting). I eventually saw Mac Snoop running on another Mac II, so I tried the following: Run Mac Snoop from the floopy if you own an Easy Drive! It wont die. Using this I tried the patch to $0A78. It worked. Now, if I could only beat the GO program! (I'm getting better). I'd be apreciative if anyone has any news on how to get other things (like fedit 3.05) running on a Mac II. Thanks to Tim Smith and Jim Bys for providing useful suggestions, and to the author of MacSnoop! I'm going to send a hard copy of this to the Easy drive people in hopes that they can provide an upgrade. - mike
