[comp.sys.mac] case conversion for European characters, help!

Anyone undertaken the task of writing case-conversion functions that
handle ALL Mac characters correctly?  (option-s, a-umlaut, etc.)  Will
the correctness of said functions vary with country?

Yes, at least for French.  In France, lowercase letters lose their
accents when they are converted to uppercase.  In Canada they keep
them.

Yes, it's called Transliterate, and it's documented on page 17 of the Script
Manager section of IM Vol V.
