[comp.sys.mac] FLASH! Net dinner at Macworld Boston Wednesday

jww@sdcsvax.UCSD.EDU (Joel West) (08/07/87)

In the tradition of the first semi-annual Macintosh net dinner (hosted by
then-INFO-MAC moderator David Gelphman), there will be an official
second dinner at the Boston show next week.

As before, the menu is Chinese, and all readers of comp.sys.mac,
INFO-MAC and Delphi Macintosh board are invited (along with anyone
else you care to tell.) It will be hosted by Ric Ford, formerly
of Macintouch, now technical editor for MacWeek and a frequent
contributor to the Delphi digests.

The time:
	Wednesday, August 12, 5:30 p.m.

The place:
	Royal East
	790 Main Street
	Cambridge, MA
	661-1660	(reservation in Ford's name)

From the show, take the "Red Line" (a subway line) towards Alewife (or Harvard
Square). It's about six stops to Kendall Square (it may now be called
Kendall/M.I.T.). Main Street is the street you exit to; head away from
Kendall Square (in the direction you were heading) towards Central Square;
it's only a few blocks.	If I sound vague, it's because I know the
area but have never been to the restaurant, but Ric says it's easy to find.

If you're driving, it's right across the Longfellow Bridge from downtown,
and at the east side of MIT, so it should be easy to get directions
to Kendall Square.

The time is a little early, but there is a technical discussion with
some Apple people being sponsored by the Boston Computer Society that
evening. That meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. (we'll be a little late)
and is easily within walking distance, so if you want to go,
you can follow Ric.

(I tried to cancel the earlier msg to put in the PS, but the
stupid news software thinks I'm not me...)

PS: If you have any questions on this, or just want to make your
regrets, I'll be at the MacTutor booth (#1034) all three days.
I'll make tentative plans to lead an expedition to the restaurant
for those who don't know Boston; meet at the booth a little before
    5 p.m. Wednesday.

While you're by, I'd have no objections if you ask to see a demo
of our new color accessory pack for the Macintosh II, particularly
if you decide to take one home. :-)
