[comp.sys.mac] TurboMax board on 512KE or Plus

espen@well.UUCP (Peter Espen) (08/16/87)

I would be interested in hearing some opinions from anyone out there who has
had the TurboMax board (made by MacMemory) installed in their 512KE or Plus
system. This board is advertised as follows:
        - 16MHz 68000 Processor
        - Opt. 68881 Math CoProcessor
        - MaxRam/MaxPrint
                        (onboard RamDisk and Print Spooler)
        - MaxSave onboard ROMs
(allows for recoverable ramdisk after sys. crash)
        - SuperSpeed SCSI port
(double the speed of plus SCSI port) - ??
        - Extra Power Supply and Fan
        - 2 Year Warranty

A local store is advertising this board at $999.95 installed. Any
comments by people who are familiar with this board would be greatly
appreciated. I would also like to know how much total non-RamDisk Ram this
board supplies (1 Meg, 2 Meg,... ???).

I'd also like to hear what people's experiences with TurboMax are. Also,
Peter, where is your "local store"? (I haven't seen any SF Bay Area stores
advertise TurboMax.)
