I realize this has been bandied about this newsgroup before, but could someone
send me email concerning the pros and cons of Lightspeed C on the Mac? I'm
currently using Megamax C, but a friend gave me a demonstration of Lightspeed,
and I'm VERY interested. My application is currently running about 3500
lines, and will probably exceed 8000 when all done. I'd appreciate any
comments on using Lightspeed to develop projects of that size, especially
the performance under RAMdisks (my friend tried to show me a demonstration of
Lightspeed running under a ramdisk created with RAMstart 1.3, but it bombed
with an ID=26). Also, are there any restrictions on further distribution of
programs created with Lightspeed, such as licensing fees or copyright
declarations?
I suppose it goes without saying that Lightspeed requires a hard disk, but
does anyone out there have opinions on MacPlus dual-drive operation?
