[comp.sys.mac] Technical Assistance needed

oppy@unrvax.UUCP (Brian Oppy) (08/19/87)

I have ordered a new Macintosh plus and hope to receive it sometime next
week or so, and I would like to hook it up to a standard multiplexer to
communicate with the mainframes here directly from my office. The line is a
RS-232 25-pin connector, standard serial.

I need to know if there is a premade cable that is designed to do this, or what
the pin configuration is on the modem port of the Mac so I can make my own cable- is the Mac port a standard 8 - pin connector of the sort that Radio Shack
sells? Also, if there is a premade cabel to do this, who makes it, where
can I get one and how much?

The Apple store here has been promising to check and return my calls, but
don't seem to follow through, so I'm assuming they don't know.

If anyone knows what I need, please reply via e-mail, or in this newsgroup -
Thanks very much for anything you can tell me,

Salutations, (Brian) Oppy
