I have a 512K (Enhanced) (128K ROMs) and a HD20 (not SCSI). I would like to upgrade my Mac to 1Meg and SCSI. Q1. Can anyone suggest a cheap place for such an upgrade ? Q2. Will my HD20 be still usable ? Q3. Can the hard-disk HD20 (not SCSI) also be upgraded to (SCSI) ? thanks in advance, - rajiv desai Internet: rd@crim.eecs.umich.edu CSNET: rd@eecs.umich.edu UUCP: {allegra,cosivax,hcrns,ihnp4,mit-eddie,symplex}!umich!eecs.umich.edu!rd

You'll thank yourself for it many times over! > Q1. Can anyone suggest a cheap place for such an upgrade ? Can't help you here. Try your local users' group. They can probably give you some pointers. > Q2. Will my HD20 be still usable ? Sure, no problem. Just plug it into the external floppy port, same as before. > Q3. Can the hard-disk HD20 (not SCSI) also be upgraded to (SCSI) ? Nope, so sorry, but keep it around to augment the SCSI drive you end up buying. I've got an XP40 and my old HD20 hooked up to my MAChine. The HD20 makes an excellent backup device, if nothing else, especially if you get a 20M SCSI drive. > thanks in advance, you're welcome in arrears, > - rajiv desai - Steve Bruun AT&T Bell Labs Naperville, IL ihnp4!ihlpa!sebruun

Can anyone suggest a cheap place for such an upgrade ? Yeah, Dove can do it all for you. However, to do it right (CMOS) will probably be close to the Apple price. However, expandability will be on your side with the Dove (I got Apple's because of the discounts we get through the company). Jam bag the keyboard. The Mac Plus keyboard isn't a far sight over the regular Mac one. Get a real keyboard from somewhere else. I hear the PC Mac keyboard is really quite good. Beside, you can't play MacLanding on a Mac Plus keyboard (no Enter key). :^) > >Q2. Will my HD20 be still usable ? > Yes. >Q3.
