[comp.sys.mac] Pin-outs for the Mouse

hallett@macbeth.UUCP (09/02/87)

Organization:

I was wondering if anyone of you knew the pin connections on the mouse
port. I was thinking of getting a joystick, and if I knew the pin
connections, I might just be able to get it to work. (Mac joysticks are
moby expensive, whereas others are very inexpensive.)

Thanks,

Jeff

Technote #10 has the complete set of Mac pinouts excluding the ADB stuff.
The following is from that.
Macintosh Mouse Connector (DB-9)
Pin Name Description
1 Ground
2 +5V See Macintosh Hardware
3 GND ground
4 X2 Horiz. movement line (connected to VIA PB4 line)
5 X1 Horiz. movement line (connected to SCC DCDA line)
7 SW Mouse button line (connected to VIA PB3)
8 Y2 Vert. movement line (connected to VIA PB5 line)
9 Y1 Vert. movement line (connected to SCC DCDB line)

Hope this helps.
