I just looked into my Mac Plus and was wondering if I can just -- 1) Pop in 1Meg x 8 SIMMs into the SIMM sockets, 2) move the resistor from "256" to "one"? Will the boot ROM go out and size all of that RAM or will other tricks be needed? Thanks, Gary (hplabs, sun, amdahl)oliveb!oliven!gnome

All you need to do is pop in the 4 1MB SIMMS and cut ot the '256K' resistor. You do not need to install a resistor in the 'one' position. This will give you 4 MB of main memory. The 128K ROM's can handle 4 megs with no problems. The only real 'problem' is the cost of those SIMMS! (~$1500/4 megs). -- Lawrence A. Dziegielewski | E.I.
