Well, it finally arrived, the Mac II that our department ordered way back in June. Anyways, I love it and I want one. Unfortunately it's a monochrome, but that's still better than nothing, we would've had to wait until January to a get a color monitor, so we opted for a monochrome. However, somehow another department got a color mac. Don't know how, but they did. However, since they have to have us setup the Mac II, I got a chance to play with it for a bit. I got a hold of the Kolor CDEV and played with that for a while and was impressed by the grays that it could do. I then took it and put it on this Color Mac that we had and played with that and had a lot of fun with that also. The colors on the Mac II are great! A friend gave me the program Mesmer which does some real simple quick-draw routines, but does them in Gray-scale or color. On the color Mac it was very good. Kolor CDEV seems to work fine on a monochrome Mac II. I like the ability to play with the colors/grays that the menus can use. I was really impressed by the ability to select your alert bell sound. My question is, where can I get more sounds for it and how do I install them? Someone at Apple has this 45 second cut of Money for Nothing as his bell... I have SuperPlay and a few sound files (they look like ordinary documents) and I was wondering if it would be possible to incorporate these files into the sound CDEV. The files are "I'm sorry I can't do that Dave," by Hal, a Max Headroom cut, a dog barking, and a few beeps. As far as I know they are in ASND sound format. At least that's what SuperPlay is insisting they are. Any help for me here? +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | David Vangerov | | Just your average Theater Arts major with a weird thing for computers | | fiatlux@ucscc.BITNET || fiatlux@ucscc.ucsc.EDU || ...!ucbvax!ucscc!fiatlux | +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
