Help! Our Mac went down the other day--weird stuff. The disk drive stopped reading, and then the screen blanked out a couple of times. This happened after I had started up a RAM disk. I don't know what version it was, but it was pretty old. I think it might have come with my dad's old version of Mac Pascal. Anyways, when we took it in to be serviced, the store said that one of the chips in the disk drive was fried. The drive was also suffering from overuse (no hard disk yet in this household...which was why I wanted to use the RAM disk). I can believe that. But my dad claims that the RAM disk caused the fried chip. I have trouble believing that. Any comments? (Also, is their a **reliable** RAM disk available for the Mac? Preferably PD?) Thanks.
