Sure. The Consualair 68000 Development System (#TMSCDS) is available from APDA for $73. I also think they are selling it themselves (Consualair) directly. Finally, wasn't there an assembler out there called "McAssembler" or something? I believe that "McSink" was written in it (seeing as how the same person wrote both...) Mainstay (the people now doing VIP) started with an assembler, which I believe was McAsm. One local Mac wizard swears by it. -- Joel West (c/o UCSD) Palomar Software, Inc., P.O. There is a much simpler assembly language environment available. Its original title was the "Macintosh 68000 Development System." It has been developed by the Consulair Corp. and for a while was marketed by Apple. Now, Apple has given Consulair the rights back again and its title has changed. It is a good, assembly language-only, development environment. The assembler isn't exactly the same as the MPW assembler, but it's very similar. Since the MPW shell isn't a part of this system, it is easier to use than MPW. Most things are done with menu commands. It's also much less expensive than MPW. Hope this helps. The Consulair (note spelling) 68000 Development System is also available from MacWarehouse for $59, shipped UPS second day air. The CDS used to be Apple's own Mac Development System, so if you know someone who uses MDS, they can give you a good idea of how it works. I've used MDS about since it was released, and am relatively happy with it. I believe Mainstay also has an assembler called MacAsm. I only used a very early version a couple of years ago, so I can't comment on it. I'm not associated with Consulair, Apple, or MacWarehouse, except as a satisfied customer, and not at all with Mainstay. -- Brian L. I've seen it advertised by Programs Plus for $59. Buying third party software from APDA is often not a good idea, financially. Duane Williams dtw@cs.cmu.edu
