Question: Is University Ingres public domain?
If so, I need a copy for a Vax 11/750 running Unix System 5 release 2.

While Ingres is public domain, there is no requirement that anyone give you a copy. In fact we (the Ingres project) do NOT distribute Ingres. The only way you can get a copy from the University is to show proof of a UNIX source liscence, and then to buy the 4.2 release.
