After monkeying around with a beta version of Juggler/Multi-Finder for a few
days, I have to say that I find it a pretty solid product (I have 2.5 Megs
of memory, so Multi-Finder has a lot of room to play in). It will be
especially interesting once I get my update to VersaTerm for background
uploading/downloading (yeah!). However, I've got a few questions, still:
1) Suitcase doesn't seem to allow me to open/close font/DA folders under
MultiFinder. It will autoload the fonts/DAs in the Font/DA folders, but
after that, I'm stuck with them. Works great with Multi-Finder not
working. Is this just me, or is this an incompatibility? Can anything
be done to get it to work with MF? It is an extremely nice product
which I would like to continue to use.
2) Anyone know if the ol' LaserWriter save-to-PostScript option works under
the background LaserWriter Spooler? Cmd-F seems to work when background
printing isn't enabled (well, actually there seems to be a bug, but it
is beta software).
3) I didn't expect my SuperMac SuperSpool for the ImageWriter to work under
Multi-Finder -- and it didn't! Anyone know if SuperMac will have an
update out for this that will work under MF? Anyone know if Apple will
do a BackGrounder for the ImageWriter?
4) The various Launch programs -- Oasis, PowerStation, etc. -- apparently
(from previous comp.sys.mac articles) one needs to place in more code
when sub-launching so that the Launch Program doesn't quit. Anyone know
if updates to Oasis and PowerStation are in the works to do this? Any
idea if the "open" command in HyperCard will allow the same type of
sub-launching under Multi-Finder?
Thanks for any and all answers/speculations in advance.
