When running under MultiFinder 1.0b6, LightSpeed C 2.11 terminates whenever I try to open a file for editing. It will compile and link just fine. I am using System 4.2a4, Finder 6.0b6, and Apple's 40SC hard disk. MultiFinder and other programs continue to run after the error. Sometimes a dialog appears saying LightSpeed terminated with error #3. Has anyone heard what the solution is? All in all, MultiFinder is very well done and with only 1 meg is still by far more enjoyable than without. Temporarily I am running LightSpeed C only after turning off MultiFinder. Erik Kilk

Under MultiFinder 1.0b6, this problem can be fixed by replacing the WDEF #2 resource in LightspeedC with the WDEF resource I am including at the end of this article in BinHex form. This fix is not sufficient if you have a version of MultiFinder preceding 1.0b6. With this fix, LSC should work fine under MultiFinder with the following exception. If you launch LSC from the Finder and then open and run a program, quitting the program will return to the Finder, not LSC. If you launch the project document from the Finder, running a program and quitting will correctly return to LSC. [Byron Han, if you're listening, we know that you say it never works right, but Mike says he can't reproduce that behavior.] No flames, please. This will be fixed in the next release...
