[comp.sys.mac] USING THE IMAGEWRITER AS A TYPEWRITER???

ud069225@ndsuvm1.bitnet.UUCP (09/18/87)

I was wondering whether there are any programs or drivers to make the IM II per
form as a typewriter. I'm interested in filling out some forms and I thought "w
hy not use my IM II as a typewriter?" One other option that might be kinda nic
e is to get the print head to move w/o printing a character until hitting a car
riage return at which type it would go back to the start of that line and print
the characters and then advance one line and wait for another carriage return.
Is such a monster available or,if not, could some of you programmers out there t
ake on the task and put it out here, say as shareware?? I think there is a need
and I for one would gladly pay for the program. Hope to hear a reply soon.
  Thanks,

Yes -- someone already makes it, I think SOfStyle (maker of printer
drivers for all kinds of printers). If no one on the net posts the
product name in a day or so, call ComputerWare (415) 323-7557 (they
have it in stock).
