[comp.sys.mac] Please describe comp.binaries.mac files *in the postings*!

eacj@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu (Julian Vrieslander) (09/23/87)

I think it is great that there are resources like comp.binaries.mac and
folks who are willing to take the time to donate and/or upload binaries.

However, there are often cases where a cryptically named .hqx file is
submitted with virtually no information in the posting itself to identify
what it is. The file "NetHack 1.4f" is a recent example. Perhaps there was
a message on comp.sys.mac that described this file - I missed it. So I would
have to search the archives for that note, or download all 12(!) parts and
un-hex the mess just to see if I have any use for it.

So please, if you submit a binary, put at least a minimal description of
the file at the top of the posting (before the BinHex stuff). Thanks.
