Whats going on??? I had EXACTLY the same problem when I installed an Internal Hard disk WHEN I ACCEDENTLY LEFT OUT THE APPLE ROMS!!!! So I would assume the H/W that maps or loads from the ROMS is bad or maybe a ROM has gone bad itself. Service Center time!!! Phil Hunt

My reset switch was not stuck. My ROM's were fried (according to the repairman at the dealer). It cost $84 apiece for 2 new ROM's, plus $50 labor, to fix. The repairman said that the failure was probably not caused by overheating. I didn't have a fan then, I do now. I bought my Mac+ May '86. He said that it was probably caused by a glitch in the line power, but when I told him I had a surge protector, he said he didn't know why it happened. "Sometimes they just go bad". --Luke Lucas H.
