Please, no more discussions about which terminal emulator to buy. The recent fracas has made the following facts clear to everybody on this newsgroup: a) MacTerminal has nice vt100 emulation. b) VersaTerm has lots of features. c) People love, or hate, Red Ryder. d) VersaTerm PRO is the ultimate vt100,tek4010,tek4105,DG200 emulator, but most people think it is overpriced (until they get it, that is). e) None of the above can keep up at 19200 baud if (PROCESSOR == MC68000) If you want to keep up with 19200 baud, you have to get a program which spends a large proportion of its time refreshing the screen, rather than saving lines off the top and delivering advanced features. The only terminal emulators for the Mac I have seen which can keep up with a 19200 baud RS-232 port dumping a huge text file are MacKermit and uw. If you need speed, get one of these. If you need features, get something else. -- ********************************************************************* *Earle R.
