We are trying to implement a network of Macs in an office environment which in turn will interface with a mini and a main-frame. In many cases the Mac will be used for order entry, word processing, electronic mail, and customer service functions, where the user will be spending 5 to 8 hours a day staring at the screen. While I know of several large screen solutions, most of them require an additional cost of $1500 to $2500 per station. This cost is not acceptable within the scope of this solution. What is needed is a medium-large display, 12 inches would suffice, which is fairly stable, for no more than several hundred dollars. It should be able to be used with a Mac Plus or an SE, and ideally, with a Mac II. I would appreciate any help in coming up with a cost effective solution. Information on commercial solutions as well as hack-it-yourself approaches is desired. Please send by E-mail and I'll post the results to the net. Thanks in advance to all who respond. -- << Usual Disclaimer >> Phil Weinberg @ Motorola Semiconductor, San Jose, CA UUCP: {hplabs, mot,} !motsj1!phil Telephone: +1 408-985-0510
