bier@speedy.WISC.EDU (George Bier) (10/01/87)
This is a request for something I haven't seen come up before (at least
recently).
I am acquiring a MAC II specifically to port a rather large (10,000 line)
Modula-2 program. Unfortunately I have no idea which is the best compiler
for such a project.
The compilers I have seen ads for are (although I am aware of others) :
SemperSoft
TDI
TML
TML and SemperSoft both require MPW, however in the SemperSoft ad are the
following intriguing lines:
Modula-2 Compiler, Libraries, Library source, Utilities $195
(requires MPW base)
with full MPW base $345
with MPW base (minus Assembler) $255
(prices are taken from an ad that appeared in June and may no longer
be accurate).
Does anyone have any idea if this is the complete MPW that is available
from APDA? If it is this would seem to be a substantial savings
over the normal price.
In addition I would like to hear any comments, recommendations about
any of the various Modula-2 compilers.
Please email and I will post a summary.
Thanks,
