The earlier query re the blinking apple (when I was a MacInfant, I had the same problem and it bugged the [insert favorite expletive] out of me) reminded me of a seeming bug I've been having lately: When my Ala rm Clock DA "goes off" it blinks my apple, no problem. I select the DA from the menu to turn off the blink, and it does -- except that it leaves the apple in reverse video! Repeating the process (and making sure to select the DA when the apple has blinked into normal video) clears things up. I'm using 4.1/5.5. Anyone else have this happen and/or know how to fix it? This borders on the trivial, but small annoyances tend to have cumulative effect over time. (-: __________________________________________________________________________ | Another angle on the DA: The alarm clock setting is one of the things | | that the Mac remembers (?) when you shut it off, using the battery. The | | clock may "go off" even if you're using a disk that doesn't have the | | DA on it (HyperCard, for example). Just quit to a disk that has the DA | | and kill the alarm as always. Not too difficult, but it could be con- | | fusing to those just getting started with HyperCard. | __________________________________________________________________________ James Fitzwilliam Disclaimer: Heck, half the time even _I_ don't agree with my opinions. uucp: rochester!ur-tut!syap arpa: syap@tut.cc.rochester.edu =============================================================================
