Within the past 24 hours, my MacPlus, configured with 1Mb of DRAM, an external 800K floppy and an external separately powered 40Mb SCSI hard disk, has started resetting itself. Most frequently at power-up but also after running for periods up to an hour. When it starts, it will start coming up to about the smiling face disk and then go down. Eventually after much beeping as it re-iterates this behavior it will stabilize and will come up for a period of time. This machine has run flawlessly for over 8 months. It will duplicate this with the SCSI disk removed and a floppy boot occuring. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? If it is just a loose connection, I will find it and resolder. But if it is something else I would like to know. -- -John D. Reynolds reynolds@ncrcae.Columbia.NCR.COM

My Mac once did something like this, it was a stuck programmers switch. If you have a programmers switch, try taking it off, otherwise take it to a dealer. Brian Raut 13t)
