I've been reading now and then about these 'SND ' resources that can be installed in HyperCard...I wonder if someone could clue me in on the source and the format for such sound resources. I am writing a program to teach some aspects of music composition, and I would like my output to go not only out a serial port in a MIDI format (which I have down pat) but also to the internal speaker as an option. I have the Mac sound driver working just fine, but all I have right now in the way of wave forms are the ones that I can generate by simple means (sine, square wave, etc). I would like users of my program to be able to install their own instrument sounds if they would like to, so if there is some kind of well-known standard for 'SND ' resources I would like to know about it. Any advice? By the way, has anyone come up with anything better than the Sound Driver, like maybe with more than four voices?
