I would like to apoligize to everyone on the Net for putting what should have been a mail message, in this newsgroup. It was the only way I could think of to get this message to Rich Straka after I lost his mail path. I tried using the following path: intelca!hplabs!rutgers!moss!ihlpf!straka, but mail gave me an error saying that the event was not found. I have to admit that I have not sent very much stuff over to other Unix sites so I am not sure how I would reach Rich via 'mail'. Anyway please forgive me and hopefully I will not do this again. > I should have posted a month later than I did (a month ago). There > exists (and is free), UNIX programs that do the same for you. They are: > xbin: (unBinhexes) > macput: (handles the xmodem stuff) > macget: (converse) > unpit: (unpacker) > bhcomb: (binhex combiner for split files) > > I can send you the source for all of them. You don't even need BinHex > to download. I can send you a copy of BinHex 4.0 if you need to upload. > You would use macbinary instead of mac xmodem. I would love to get all of the stuff you have (any and all). If it is not too much trouble that is. How will you send it to me? Let me know and thank you very much for your help I greatly appreciate it. > --- > Rich Straka ihnp4!ihlpf!straka > > Advice for the day: "MSDOS - just say no." I have this flier with Bill the cat on it speaking out on the evils of DOS. It happens to have the same saying as your Advice of the day. It is really quite hilarious and if you don't already have it I would be happy to send it to you via US (snail) mail. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have no opinions that I know of. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ___ _ ____ _ ___ / \__/ \__/ \__/ \__/ \ | _| @ @__ | Please don't turn me off, I'll shut up! \________/ | | \________/ \_ \__ \_ o) (\ \____/ Joe Roberts Intel/Santa Clara, (408) 496-4631 {hplabs,decwrl,oliveb,amdcad}!intelca!mipos3!jroberts

Here we go again. For some reason I just can't get any message to the 'ihlpf' node from here. I have tried several paths, among them: straka@ihlpf.ATT.COM straka@ihlpf.UUCP intelca!hplabs!rutgers!moss!ihlpf!straka The first and second paths are not know by the MAILER-DAEMON here on my node. The third one apparently goes through but I never get replies back so I am not sure if they went through or not. Anyway I apologize for putting this on the net, but hey I'm desperate. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi Rich, Are my messages getting through to you?? I am not sure because I have sent a previous message and I did not hear any thing from you. I want to thank you for your help in getting the Binhex programs. Unfortunately 'macput' and 'unpit' did not make it here. If you would not mind too much, could you please mail me those again. Also, I am compiling these in Ultrix 2.0-1. Should I be using the -DBSD or the -DSYSV option when compiling. Please send me any info you can on this because I am not well versed in the differences between systems. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Disclaimer: Of course these are only my opinions, no one else's.
