[comp.sys.mac] BYTE MAG as an MS-DOS journal

jww@sdcsvax.UCSD.EDU (Joel West) (11/04/87)

I heard a great story on this recently:

Apparently McGraw-Hill seriously considered making Byte an all-
MS-DOS magazine. In typical corporate fashion, they took the
survey just before the Mac's resurgence and then nearly made a
decision based on this already-obsolete information.

My sense is the magazine is about 15-20% Macintosh, which is certainly
significant in light of the Mac's share of readers and potential readers
(someone said 10%???)

(Of course, if Byte didn't have Mac readers and Mac articles, it
would be one less place for me to write, so draw your own conclusion...)
