Well, I managed to finagle a copy of the release Multifinder out of our local university dealer today (they got one of the few preliminary copies). I only got one disk with Sys 4.2 Find 6.0 MF 1.0 etc., etc. The person there told me that the full System Software 5.0 Release will have four or five disks of stuff as well as a pile of documentation. This is the package which will retail for $50 and which nobody has yet. My question relates to whether I will be able to get this package for free from my local dealer or not. I got my Mac II at the beginning of September. Now, I have the little slip which says "Mail in your receipt and the UPC bar from your shipping box and get a free copy of System Software 5.0 Release in 12 to 16 weeks." I would rather just walk in to my local dealer and have them hand me the package. Do I *have* to send this offer in to Apple in order to get my free copy? Or will dealers be able to give it out free (as with Hypercard)? The salesperson seemed to think Apple wanted to handle it directly. Does anyone out there know for sure? Apple, are you listening?
