Really ? Funny, I've *somehow* got my amiga to do the same thing. 1 pixel on the screen is one dot on the printer. And they are both 72 dpi devices so not only is it WYSIWYG, but it's also the exact same size. Can you make the same claim ? >I've seen >dot-matrix color harcopy for the Amiga and it stinks. Is this like "I saw a JX-80 with a old dried up ribbon and it made lousy pictures, so the amiga is lame" ? One of the nice things about the amiga is the generic support for any printer you want to throw at it. I have a canon inkjet which makes wonderful pictures. There is also the Xerox color ink jet, the HP color ink jet, the CalComp thermal dye transfer, the Shinko thermal dye transfer, the Tektronix inkjet (the best colors) and the Tektronix thermal dye transfer. These are just the major ones. Plus there is a Polaroid Palette hook up so you can take color prints and slides and there is always direct output to videotape. So whats this nonsense about lousy color output ? I agree, I think the JX-80 stinks, but you can hardly say there is no good color output devices available (for any machine) >As for laser >machines, I suppose it's just a matter of the Amiga speaking >PostScript. But the point is that Mac applications are generally >WYSIWYG from launch to hardcopy, and I think it's that last WYSIWYG >step to hardcopy which made (and still makes) a big difference to a >lot of people. WYSIWIG is already available, and I've had PostScript on my Amiga for over a year. There is no doubt that mac applications are more WYSIWIG oriented when it comes to monochrome text and graphics, but thats what it seems to be for. I bought mine for animation, but I also have some nice WYSIWYG PostScript tools. >Brad Blumenthal P.S.
