I am interested in dabbling in MAC development and have followed several discussions on the net concerning the pros and cons of the various development environments: Aztec C, LSC/LSP, and MPW, these seem to be the most popular. I have also read various notes concerning the programming productivity provided by MacApp. I am trying to sort out what attributes of the development environment/ language are most important to a new Mac programmer. Is the rapid edit/compile/execute environment provided by the Light Speed products more important than the language extension/enhancements provided by MacApp? Do the Light Speed products support the MacApp extension or some other extension/application skeleton. Are there more fundamental issues concerning development environments that I should be concerned with such as debug support? Or is a development environment like a car... a matter of personal preference? I am not attempting to start a holy war, so you can send your comments to me directly. Thanks for the input.
