You can buy the raw cables and connectors to build your own custom cable
setups.  You can buy either the Teflon coated cable if your local electrical
code requires it, or the less expensive PVC-coated cable.  Anyway, I don't
remember exact pricing, but it was around an order of magnitude cheaper
to go with bulk pvc-cable.  The supplier I used was Anixter, Inc. based
out of Evanston, Illinois (at least that's the chicago headquarters).
They were quite nice to deal with.
