I downloaded the recent posting of the QuickKeys demo and put it in my system folder. It worked fine. However, I noticed that the Smart Alarm DA did not work. When I tried to open Smart Alarm, nothing happens the first time. If I tried it again, the apple would remain highlighted, clicking anywhere on the screen would cause the bell to beep, and only by hitting the return key would I get out of this loop. I reinstalled Smart Alarm and the same thing happened. Finally I removed QuickKey from the system folder and Smart Alarm would work again. Coincidence, or is there some kind of incompatability between these two? Are others running QuickKeys and Smart Alarm at the same time with no problems? Any ideas or help would be appreciated. To get Smart Alarms to work with QuicKeys, go into the system with ResEdit and change the .Rmdr INIT to something greater than 31. Then it should work fine; mine does. I think the commercial version of QuicKeys comes with a note to this effect. Ray Davidson
