[comp.sys.mac] cheap disks and 1Meg SIMs seen

kraut@ut-ngp.UUCP (Werner Uhrig) (11/13/87)

in the issue of APDAlog I just received, MacMemory of Austin has an ad again
with a December special of 1MEG Sims for $199. 1-800-MAC-DISK
Caveat: I believe these are the same folks who advertised the same item at
the same price sometimes in August and then did not deliver (so some folks
reported here then). they also advertise a MAGIC-60 Meg drive for $899.

another outfit advertised in the local university paper Sony SS-disks in
bulk for 9x cents (99 or 94, I forget) and Rodime 20 Meg drives for $540.

just to help you compare ...

Ever on the lookout for cheap SIMMs, here's a recent discovery:

PSI MAC PAC advertises in the Nov. 9 Macintosh Today (p. 51)
  2 x 1M SIMMs $388.00 surface mount, CMOS DRAMs
  4 x 1M SIMMs $769.00
  for Mac+, SE, II
  For more info call 800/MAC-1PAC
PSI 1609A S. Main St. San Jose, Ca. 95035
  Dealer inquiries, MC/Visa welcome.

I know NOTHING about these people other than that they are advertising
in Mac Today. The fact that they are also pushing single 1 Mb
SIMMs alone as upgrades (rather than just in pairs) makes me a bit
suspicious, but I have no reason to doubt their prices reflect
anything other than a good deal.

DISCLAIMER: I have no connection with PSI, and have never purchased
anything from them. Caveat emptor. Shake well before opening.
