The following is some info on Multi-Finder:
Multi-Finder is Here!. I picked up my Mac SE two days ago and
Multi-Finder was in it. There are FIVE DISKS. The System disk is
now System 1 and System 2, two disks. The Utilities Disk is now
Utilities 1 and Utilities 2, two disks. They keep growing in size.
You only need these four to set up and run. The fifth disk is the
tour disk.
The Multi-Finder manual that comes with the Computer is a thin
one. After reading it I did picked up a couple of things I did not
know. The rest I knew from friends and reading of the net.
My opinion is this. If what I received is all there is to the
new System release then I would not spend my money getting the
official Apple release. Multi-Finder is a great piece of software
and I rarely revert to the Finder, I only have one Meg, and I think
that everyone should have it. One Meg is fine but I am going to
two meg as soon as Santa comes my way.
Of course you do not get the master disks and all that nice
packaging. And you are at your own risk if you get it from another
source.
