[] I may be asking a stupid question, but my interest in soundfiles was nil until quite recently. Now, however, I am heavily interested in getting more interesting system beeps from my SE. I have several questions: I have heard at various times about a CDEV called CheapBeep. Is it a CDEV? Does it work on an SE? The ideal dialog beep replacer would actually respond differently to requests for one, two, or three beeps. Is this a function of the SystemBeep trap (or whatever it's called) that beep replacers replace, or is it some routine hidden inside the ROM and accessed directly by Alert() and its variants? (I don't have my IM at work to look in...) If CheapBeep doesn't work on an SE, what does? Finally, is there a startupsound randomizer similar to the various startupscreen and desktop randomizers around? Thanks all.... -- pem@cadnetix.UUCP (nbires!isis!ico!cadnetix!pem)
