Can someone tell me where, how to obtain MacinTalk and whether it
works on a Mac II? Several PD applications seem to assume that
you have it but I haven't seen it on sumex-aim.

The version of manintalk which will run on mac IIs is version 1.3.1 (or maybe
its 1.31). System software of macintosh can always be had from APDA, whose
address has been posted several time already. Many user groups also have
some system software (by permission); I'm pretty sure the mac user groups on
GEnie, Delphi, and CompuServe all will have Macintalk 1.3.1.

Dear Alex - You can obtain MacinTalk 1.3 as part of the MacinTalk Development Package from APDA (Apple Programmer's and Developer's Association). It is also available from a number of electronic distribution sources - Delphi, Genie, CompuServe, Etc. MacinTalk 1.3 works on the Macintosh SE and Macintosh II (with great thanks to Paul Mercer!) and on the Macintosh SE with some (but not all) 3rd party accelerator boards. -- Jordan Mattson UUCP: ucbvax!mtxinu!apple!jordan Apple Computer, Inc.
