I am putting together several Mac applications that need to be able to make copies of files on disk. The applications also involve the transfer of files over communications links by Xmodem and other protocols. Can anyone give me a thumbnail sketch of the procedure you should go through to copy a file (resource & data forks + file info) and all it's related information from within a program. Also, if you can provide similar information on how to turn a Macbinary format file back into a normal macintosh file and vice-versa it would be very helpful. Source code would be very handy (even fragments) if you happen to have it. Something like the source to the Macintosh program BinHex5 (it converted Normal mac files to MacBinary format and back again for downloading with Xmodem) would be just what I need. I could probably figure all this out by reading Inside Mac, but I wanted an outline of the procedure from someone who had already done it, just so I don't accidentally leave something out. Thanks for your help... Greg Corson 19141 Summers Drive South Bend, IN 46637 (219) 277-5306 (weekdays till 6 PM eastern) {pur-ee,rutgers,uunet}!iuvax!ndmath!milo
