A couple of years ago, I wrote a spinning-watch subroutine in MDS assembler. It used the vertical-retrace manager to ensure that the spin rate was constant, which actually doesn't help the user the way animating from SystemTask would. Actually, the subroutine could animate a watch with one or two moving hands, or an hourglass with falling sand (remember the Lisa hourglass?). I have no idea if the routine works with recent ROMs, but the source is public domain, so I'd be glad to mail it to anyone who's interested. -- Mike Morton // P.O.
