My organization has a dozen Macs (some pluses and SEs) and I've been given the task of figuring out the best way to do backups for them. We have a bunch of 20mbyte hard disks (mostly Apple SCSI disks but one or two Apple serial disks too). We are also getting some Dataframe 30 disks soon. We have an Appletalk network and I thought it might be interesting, efficient, and maybe even _doable_ to do network backups to tape. Does anyone have any experience with network backup schemes? Any suggestions on which products are good or not good? Do I want to consider Bernoulli boxes as well as tape cartridge systems? Anything else I should think about? Any help would be greatly appreciated; If I blow this then I get to spend the rest of my existence doing backups onto floppies using the drag-copy-remember algorithm :) Sol Lederman Stanford Instructional Television Network Sol@sri-nic.arpa (Arpanet) na.sol@stanford (Bitnet)
