Well, I've finally installed the new system stuff and Multifinder on one of my Macs. Mostly I've been pleasantly surprised at how well it works and at how much of my software seems to be perfectly happy running under it. Unfortunately there are a few things that really bug me. When not running multifinder I can use this really wonderful program called 'Hard Disk Launcher'. Or something like that. It lets a program to be launched be specified from a list taken from the desktop file. On Multifinder I have to wade down to my application from the very top layer, start the program, and then close all the window's I opened on the way down. Else I could drop all my applications, and all those files that like to be in the same folder in one folder at the root and just wade through each time. Neither plan is as nice as just opening a single Launcher application, typing "V" for Versaterm, and return. My next wish would be for some sort of window management. I typically will set Versaterm up in one switcher partition, Excell in another, and use DiskTop as a Finder Substitute. Using Multifinder, All the window's from all these applications really clutter the desktop. If I had a 19" screen I could tile all the windows out of each other's way perhaps. But what I really wish for is a way to make all the window's not hooked to the current application disappear. Like switcher does. Is there any way these can be accomplished by add-on programs? Is there any chance that Apple will add more features to MultiFinder in the future? -- --->Dave Caswell {allegra|ihnp4|...}!mhuxu!davec
