Help! AppleShare is trashing my Jasmine 80! Arrrrrgh! Here's the poop. I tell the server to shutdown in, say, 2 minutes. When shutdown time arrives, I tell it to go ahead. Bing! the Mac says. I shove my Admin diskette into the drive. Mac boots, Jasmine needs to be reinitialized. Every third or fourth time. Running apple's hard disk program tells me that it can't do the b-tree shuffle. Jasmine mount, doesn't do squat. Luckily, I usually have a week-old backup tape. Unluckily, the damned thing often crashes just when I want to bring it down to do a backup. Oh, and I also have an Apple-crapple tape drive. Could it matter when I switch this thing on during the whole process? -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chris Schmidt/Lincoln-Sudbury High School/390 Lincoln Rd/Sudbury/Ma/01776 (617) 926-3242 -----> mit-caf!lsrhs!schmidt@eddie.mit.edu
