Here's a hot tip.... I was wondering just what the plan was, to provide the DA Handler, if most current DA's wouldn't find they had enough memory to use under it. For weeks, used the option-key-when-opening trick to work them under the current application, which is usually fine. Then, trying to find other problems (I have Word 3 bombs too, Chuq), had a quick look at the boot blocks of the Multifinder distribution disks from Apple. Yes, bought mine once available. They all have 80kbytes over 'normal' allocation of system heap, as seen either by Widgets, or FEdit+. I changed things to be so on my 2.5meg MacPlus/45meg MacBottom, and everything, including DA's, works much better. There are still bombs in Word, though not absolutely sure they occur unless something else is running or has run first. Trying to do work, no time to play. Interesting Dunham comment warning about giving it more than the 384k it asks for. No, I don't but I did, and think it was buggier then. Interesting. Incidentally (I was going to publish when I had the Big Answer, but despair of it as yet), someone's comment about patches to make SuperPaint Multifinder compatible seem wrong. I called them up a few weeks ago, got verification on the 'Full Screen' crash, and that they are going to have an upgrade. And a new version with everything including the kitchen sink, which sounds very good. But the current patches (s and p varieties, you should do both, forget the order), are solely for other minor bugs and for complete laserwriter compatibility. Nothing fixed for MF in them. More if more becomes clear. Clive
