[comp.sys.mac] densitometric measuring with Macintosh ?

Has anyone kwow of the possibility of using Macintosh to
measure the optical density from a transparency.  We would
like to use Macintosh II(?) to quantify the amount of particles
in a given area.  Any suggestion will be appreciated.
