Sigh. So I finally get a moment to begin to play around a bit with my Mac II's graphics, and I decide it would be neat to have a 256 color startup screen. So off I go, take a favorite 256 color image, dump it as a res=0 pict file, and name it startupscreen.... Reboot the mac and the image shows up. You guessed it - wrong clut. The image came out looking pretty bad. Is there something I missed here? Is there a way to get the mac to use the clut in the pict resource? I know it's in there, because if I reread the pict file back into the utility I built it with it colorizes just fine. Any ideas? Jon Shapiro AT&T Information Systems
