I had a key on my Mac keyboard blow out on me. (It was the '/' key, very detrimental to a UNIX user.) The symptoms are that when the key is struck, no signals are sent to the Mac. While in Keycaps, all other keys respond, but not the slash key. After removing the screws that hold the keyboard together I found that access to the key mechanisms is restricted. The keys appear to be modular, but it is difficult to pop the key out from the keyboard. I even tried to desolder the key from the PCB, but the key still wouldn't budge. Has anyone had any success disassembling their keyboard?? Has anyone seen any articles (e.g., in Dr. Dobbs) that explain keyboard disection?? Thanks for any help. Pete. ================= Peter W.
