I have been unable to find any documentation on the "Tall Adjusted" option of the Style Dialog (used in printing a document). Anyone have a good explanation? -Ted

The Imagewriter normally prints at 72 dpi horizontally and 80 (I think) dpi vertically. This will cause a slight discrepancy between what you see on the screen and what actually gets printed. The Tall Adjusted option forces the imagewriter to print at exactly 72 dpi horizontally and vertically. If you're really interested, the Imagewriter manual has the details. mcb@oddjob.uchicago.edu 1005 E. 60th St., #346 Chicago, IL 60637

This is available (and meaningful) only on the ImageWriter. The pixel array that the Imagewriter lays down is not the same aspect ratio as the screen; the distance between dots is less horizontally than vertically. Thus, a direct printout of screen dots, or font dots, will make an image proportion- ally narrower than the screen would indicate. Normally this is not a real problem as the amount of difference is very small. However, it is particu- larly bad if you are printing out things that are noticable, such as circles which print out as vertical ellipses. The "Tall Adjusted" option allows you to specify a correction factor, so that the ImageWriter driver maintains the correct visual aspect ratio. -- -Brian Diehm (SDA - Standard Disclaimers Apply) Tektronix, Inc. briand@tekig4.TEK.COM or {decvax,cae780,uw-beaver}!tektronix!tekig4!briand
