[comp.sys.mac] Aask/INIT Manager -- Cannot post, not shareware

moriarty@tc.fluke.COM (Jeff Meyer) (01/05/88)

Thanks to several people on Delphi, I've been informed that my copy of the
Init Manager Init, Aask.INIT, is not shareware; I have apparently downloaded
a beta copy that was placed on a BBS illegally.

Thus:

1) I will not be sending Aask.INIT to comp.mac.binaries, nor mailing it to
    anyone.

2) I'll call CE software right away and find out how much they want for it.
Since I have about 15 INITs, I find it frightfully useful.

If and when I hear that it's OK to post it from CE, I'll do so.

Well, I just called CE software, and they are asking ALL BBSs which have it
on their download sections to please delete them -- AASK.INIT will be
released as part and parcel of an upgrade to the MockPackage (MockWrite,
MockChart, MockTerminal -- you know).

I wanted to pay for it now, but they said it may be another month or two
before the upgrade is released. So, it's bye-bye AASK.INIT.

PS The upgrade to DiskTop 3.01 which makes it work under MultiFinder
(including search and set file attributes) is now ready to go. Upgrade
cost is the license number and $7. Mine goes out tomorrow.

As "Ollie-mania" continues to sweep the
country, one of the most popular video-arcade
games in the country is a new one called --
this is true -- "Contra." The way it works
is, there are are two soldiers on the screen,
and when you put in a quarter, it never gets
                               to them.
