I hope Larry Rosenstein will forgive me for what I've done here; he's cooked up a real must have, an Init which gives a menu of your applications under Multifinder. It comes up if you mouse down to the right of the small icon in the menu bar, or anywhere on the menu bar if you mouse with the clover/control key. The liberties I've taken are to add an icon in the general style of his last offering, and include the ShowIcon resource so that it comes up on the bottom of your screen at boot time. And, of course, posted it here, since the total is so short... Thanks for adding the icon, etc. to the file. I would also like to add some general info: The INIT works much the same way as the MF Menu INIT that was floating around. The main difference is that MF Menu had a bug which would prevent it from working within applications that added extra dividing lines to the apple menu. Both INITs work by examining the apple menu and finding the list of applications that Multifinder add there. This list is copied to a separate menu and presented as a popup menu. Application menu finds the list of applications by locating the last 2 dividing lines in the menu. Therefore, the feature requires that the application support an apple menu and DAs, otherwise there won't be any list of applications. It also doesn't have a menu item to activate the DA layer, since that doesn't appear in the apple menu either. -- Larry Rosenstein Object Specialist Apple Computer AppleLink: Rosenstein1 UUCP: {sun, voder, nsc, mtxinu, dual}!apple!lsr CSNET: lsr@Apple.com

Speaking of layers, Larry, how does one get ahold of the Layer Manager docs? A guy on our BBS asked this question, as he wants his Moire CDEV to work better under MultiFinder.
