Does anyone know what the chance of there being Mac clones is? I saw
something mentioned about them in MacUser in a rumors column a few
months ago. I'd like a Mac SE, but Apple wants a premium price for
them. Mainly I just want a computer for word processing and minor
graphics (drawing) that's in a nice small package, but not for > $3000
with printer and hard disc.
Any good rumors about what/when NeXT's computer will be?

Buy an Atari 520ST (Monochrome) and Magic Sac with the device that
reads/writes Mac Disks. Approximate cost: $850.00. Not completely
Mac compatable, but will run 75% of the "serious" packages, like
Word 3.01, MacWrite 4.6, MacDraw 1.9, etc.
OR build your own Mac, starting with a used 512k motherboard. It
has been done before. Check out Pre-Owned Electronic's prices in the
back of Computer Shopper. Approximate cost (w/ 400k drive): $450.00.
OR Buy an Amiga ;-)

I got mine from a friend of a friend that refurbishes bad Macs and buys & sells used computers. It was about $850.00 I'm happy.
